North American Maple is a light-coloured hardwood originating from North America. This fine-textured timber is highly shock resistant and sturdy, favouring projects such as Furniture, Kitchen Cabinets, Worktops, Panelling, Handrails, Interior Joinery, Tabletops, Stairs, Mouldings, Flooring and Doors due to its robust nature. North American Maple is a difficult timber to work with, though it can satisfactorily be stained, glued and polished it is challenging to nail or screw. Due to this, North American Maple will be suited to a more experienced DIYer. Traditionally maple wood was used in the creation of necks and scrolls for high-quality violins.
